  • Community-based organizations (CBOs) -Popular initiatives that can bring awareness among the people living in urban poverty by helping them to understand their rights to receive services, and also providing these services.
  • The city-wide organizations include chambers of commerce and industry, coalitions of groups of ethnic origin or educational groups, and local organizations..
  • State-level NGOs include state-level organizations, associations and groups. Some state-based NGOs are managed by international and national non-governmental organizations.
  • National Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) -- an NGO that exists in only one country; they are rare.[19These include national organizations such as YMCAs, YWCAs, professional associations, and other similar organizations. Some have state or city branches, while others assist local NGO's.
  • International NGO (INGOs) -- range from secular organisations, such as Save the Children, to religious organizations. They may also provide funding to local organizations, NGOs, and initiatives, and carry out projects
